The South of France is one of those places that genuinely lives up to the hype. As someone who lived in Antibes for 4 months, I am definitely a big fan of the SoF. Warm weather, turquoise water, pastel buildings, and food that somehow tastes better just because you are eating it outside. Whether you are there for a weekend or a longer trip, the region is easy to explore and packed with things to do.

Where to Go
Nice
Nice is the ideal home base. The city is walkable, the beaches are right there, and the trains make it easy to visit nearby towns. Do not miss the Old Town, the Promenade des Anglais, and Castle Hill for one of the best viewpoints on the coast.
Cannes
Cannes feels polished and a little more upscale. Even if you are not there for the film festival, it is worth visiting for its sandy beaches and waterfront restaurants.
Antibes
If you want something a bit quieter, Antibes is perfect. Wander the old town, check out the Picasso Museum, and walk along the old city walls for incredible views. This is a great place to live if you are going to be studying at Skema!

What to Eat
Food in the South of France is simple and fresh.
Some easy things to try:
- Socca in Nice
- Fresh seafood along the coast
- A baguette sandwich from a local bakery (you will be shocked by how good it is)
- Gelato from Fenocchio in Nice’s Old Town
- Get as many croissants as is possible
You do not need fancy restaurants here. Even casual spots are great.
How to Get Around
The train system along the Côte d’Azur is cheap, fast, and scenic. You can get from Nice to Antibes or Cannes in under 20 minutes, and many towns are walkable once you arrive. Buses also run along the coast, but the train is usually easier for travelers. Download the SNCF app to buy train tickets online.
