Morning

  • Arrive in Valletta and begin your day with a stroll through the city’s historic streets. Valletta’s honey-coloured limestone buildings and narrow alleys give it a unique character. My Path in the World+2Tripadvisor+2
  • Visit St. John’s Co‑Cathedral, a Baroque gem inside the city walls. CZ Phones Home+1
  • Head up to the Upper Barrakka Gardens for sweeping views over the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities on the opposite side. Reddit+1

Lunch

  • Choose a local café for Maltese-Mediterranean cuisine. Enjoy outdoor seating if the weather allows.

Afternoon

  • Continue exploring Valletta: perhaps wander along Republic Street, peek into fortifications like Fort St. Elmo, or simply soak up the atmosphere. Tripadvisor+1
  • If time allows, consider a short boat crossing or ferry ride to one of the Three Cities (Birgu/Vittoriosa, Senglea, Cospicua) across the harbour for more history and charm.

Evening

  • Dinner in Valletta — the city comes alive at night with lights, strolls, and perhaps some late-night gelato or Maltese wine.
  • If you’re not too tired, consider catching a sunset view from the ramparts or harbour-side.

Tip: Start early to beat crowds and make the most of daylight. Valletta is compact but rich — give yourself enough time to take it in slowly.

Day 2 – Sea, Sand & the Blue Lagoon (Comino)

Morning

  • Make your way to Mdina, the “Silent City” — wander its medieval walls, narrow lanes, and enjoy the quiet historic atmosphere. Tripadvisor+1
  • Explore nearby Rabat as well if you like — there are catacombs and local cafés for a break.

Lunch

  • Have lunch in one of the local villages — enjoy Maltese cuisine outside the main tourist buzz.

Afternoon

  • For your final afternoon, head toward southern Malta for variety: consider the fishing village of Marsaxlokk (especially vibrant on Sunday), or the Blue Grotto caves, or cliffs around the southern coast. Erika’s Travels+1
  • Alternatively, return to the capital region and explore anything you missed on Day 1, or relax with a swim or seaside break.

Evening

  • For your last evening, pick a scenic spot for sunset — perhaps the coast near Dingli Cliffs, or back in Valletta for a night-view of the harbour.
  • Enjoy a memorable dinner, reflect on your trip, and soak up the Maltese atmosphere.

Tip: If driving or using public transport, southern and western parts of Malta can take some time to reach. Plan transport ahead. Also, keep some flexibility for how you feel — after two full days you might prefer a relaxed afternoon over a busy one.
